New Moon Ritual and Immune Enhancement
New Moons are the beginning of a new lunar cycle. The Moon is in its dark phase in the sky as the sun and the moon are lined up making the moon barely visible. Many astrologers speak to this special time as favorable for creating new routines and new rhythms for the next full lunar cycle of 29-30 days.
The power of your intention and ‘seed planting’ over the next 30 days is very important for your personal manifestations. My invitation to you is to take time to dream. Consider:
*What are you desiring to create?
*What requires a reset?
*What word or phrase will be your personal mantra for this cycle?
Journaling is a beautiful way to sink into your true desires for creation. You can begin to clear out your mind and begin to set intentions. The darkness of the moon is like a blank canvas to play and dream upon. This is fertile ground to tune in, tap in and turn on to your deepest yearnings and desires. As the moon grows more full, she gathers more light from the sun in the 14-15 nights following which brings power and growth for potential. Lunar-minded gardeners will sow seeds of shorter rooted plants during a new moon and as the moon waxes, its tidal pull draws water up to the soil nurturing the seed.
New moons tend to be a quiet time for us to reflect and prepare for the actions we may need to make our desired outcomes a reality.
Your personal ritual is all about you. Some ideas are to: Grab your journal and your favorite pen, light a candle to bring in the fire element, burn some incense for the air element, give gratitude to your ancestors of the past - and settle in. Make this completely your own.
Considering the unique times we are living in - I propose a few actions to add to your intention setting for optimizing your Immune System over the next 30 days.
*Enhance your immune system with herbs and key nutrients: I highly recommend Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Quercetin, NAC, Medicinal Mushrooms (Reishi, Agaricus, Turkey Tail, Lions Mane)
*Eat more simply - add in the good stuff: No need to deprive yourself, just start to add in more fresh fruits and veggies, green juices, superfoods and small amounts cold pressed oils, nuts and seeds.
*Meditate - or take time to quiet the outside world: Meditation has many proven immune enhancing effects. Calming your system and your mind - gives your body time to rest and repair. This could mean taking a luxurious bath, walking in nature, getting in the dirt to garden or coming to your cushion for a sit.
*Move Your Body: Start the class you have had your eye on by Zoom - salsa dancing, pilates, vinyasa yoga, kickboxing. Exercise is excellent for mind and body power and charging up your immune system.
*Connect! We are wired for connection. Being in community is key for immune health. Even though you may be quarantined at home - be sure you are connecting in with those you love. Your heart will thank you.
My prayer is you have an opportunity to get more intune with your heart and your true desires. As Rumi says, “There is a moon inside every human being. Learn to be companions with it.”
